What is ArcheoFolk?
Bringing you the greatest barbarian hits of antiquity requires a lot of research. Whether it's a forgotten instrument or a bygone tune, we'll find it and bring it to you in a pretty new way.
Our songs are inspired by a variety of ancient sources like depictions, fragments, melodies and lyrics and to get them we work with museums, researchers and musicians together to reconstruct our musical heritage. Using authentic instruments and lyrics, which capture the raw essence and spirit of history - while making it thrilling for modern audiences.
The aim is our project to recreate the music of the ancient world's different empires and tribes and to play worldmusic that connects cultures not only in space but also in time.
