On a September day in 2022, we didn't even think we'd be starting a band that day. At one of the tents of the AmfiFest event, we played music, tried out our drums and jew's harps and showed visitors our special ancient instruments. The stage was empty, as performers didn't arrive until late in the evening. Noticing this, one of the organisers approached us to ask if we would be interested in playing music with soundtech - something that might get the visitors' attention. We jumped at the chance, quickly got up from the grass and five minutes later we were on stage, and ten minutes later the audience was crowding around us. The immediate feedback and the joy of making music together made an impact. On the spot, we decided that from now on we would play the greatest barbarian hits of antiquity, taking the audience to a mythical journey through time. The songs of the Druids, conceived in the mists of time, the wild horsemen of the deserts and the soft melodies of ancient Rome will be played on the instruments of bygone eras. Ancient instruments, archaic lyrics with modern rhythms that invite the modern man to ecstatic dance.
This is what we call archeofolk. And this is Fandyr!
